Development Associate
Pittsburgh Playwrights Theatre seeks a contract-based Development Associate. Pittsburgh Playwrights Theatre Company is a Black-led organization devoted to producing plays of playwrights who live in or have a relationship to Pittsburgh.
This is a new position that seeks to grow support from a solid base of foundation and individual supporters. We are seeking Pittsburgh-based candidates who will work from their own home or office.
The Development Associate will:
Seek new opportunities for support; submit letters of inquiry; submit applications and assist in donor relations and communications and stewardship. Further, the Development Associate will initiate a new corporate program along with sell ads for programs and seek corporate sponsorships.
They will draw from institutional case for supports, program grants and established texts. This is a position of great growth and potential, and as the Associate grows, so can the scope of responsibility.
The Development Associate reports to the Managing Director who works remotely.

Qualifications:
Excellent written and oral and technical communication skills.
Understanding of and comfort in community service and cultural intersectionality.
Ability to stay motivated and organized.
Pittsburgh Playwrights does not require special degrees or educational backgrounds, but does require openness, honesty and a willingness to learn.
Schedule and Compensation:
Hours are flexible and dependent on workload. Evenings and weekends will be required during show schedule.
Compensation is $20-$30 per hour dependent on experience; up to $20,000 per year to start.
